Dear Speaker Ryan:

Please stop Donald Trump!

President Trump apparently believes he can do whatever he wants, say whatever he wants, with no need to think, consult or ask what the majority of Americans want. He does not mind that he is dividing the country and risking lasting harm to American democracy – not to mention making life very unpleasant for millions.

I don’t blame Trump. He is small-minded, narcissistic and delusional, with a tendency to megalomania. We knew that – you knew that – when he ran for president, but he won the election. You, on the other hand, know better and must be aware of the damage he can cause our country, and is already causing. If you don’t stand up to him, you will forever tar the Republican Party and harm our democratic traditions.

Please have courage and tell President Trump that he can’t trample on the wishes of the American people. Bring back some sanity and effort at reconciliation to the political process. Someone has to listen to the people and act accordingly. It won’t be Trump.
