You Can See Everything – 7

A Rorschach test of a movie: is Elizabeth Holmes lying? is she deluded? does she know what lying is? is she Svengalied by her current lover? was she by her former lover? Is Nathan Fielder seeking the truth? or is he trying to build his movie? is he being honest? why is he interviewing/living with her in the first place? are all his reaction shots real? why do Liz and Billy play along with his playing-dumb interview technique? is Nathan maybe a little seduced by Elizabeth’s big eyes, like the elder statesmen on the Theranos board? There are no answers, just three hours of extended close-ups. Maybe an hour too much. But the movie’s not about dramatic arc. It’s just something to talk about.
